2023 Student Art Show Results

The Mountain Artists believe in promoting, encouraging, and supporting the visual arts in our community.  In line with our goals, we have been sponsoring the Teller County Student Art Show for many years.  We are proud to have done it again in 2023.  The show is open to all middle school, high school, private schools and home schooled students in all of Teller County.  Ribbons, Certificates, and Cash awards in excess of $1600 were awarded to students that participated in 2023.

Our judge Joanie Lang was a teacher of secondary students in six different countries, teaching mostly French and English as a foreign language, but upon her retirement she has been painting and filling her life with art in its many forms.  She is vice-president of the Palmer Lake Art Group, teaches watercolors to senior citizens, paints commissioned pieces and specializes in realism and expressionism when doing her own works.  Joanie has won seven awards in the past three years and loves tailoring paintings for and gifting them to the special people in her life.
